Already Vegetarian or Vegan?



As you’ve probably worked out, Meat Free Week is talking to meat eaters. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get involved as a vegetarian or vegan. In fact, more than ever, we welcome your support.

With your help, we can inspire as many people as possible you eat less, care more and feel good. Everyone's journey starts somewhere and for many, Meat Free Week will be that first step.

We hope that Meat Free Week creates an opportunity for you to encourage meat loving friends or family to take a break from meat for one week and discover some great meat free and plant based alternatives.

We also hope it enables you to have a conversation with your loved ones, encourage them to become more aware of how much meat they are eating and build their knowledge to make more informed choices.

Get involved


+ Ask some meat loving friends to sign up for the challenge.



+ Sponsor some of them and/or offer to cook a meat free meal for them during the week.



+ Host a dinner party during Meat Free Week and ask that everyone who attends make a donation.


+ Arrange a gathering where everyone brings along vegetarian or vegan plate. At the end, pass a hat around and people can contribute what they feel the meal was worth.



+ At one of the above mentioned gatherings, suggest that everyone attending share one thing they learned from the Meat Free Week site that surprised them most.



+ Arrange a night out at a vegetarian or vegan restaurant or cafe.  Ask everyone to chip in a bit extra and donate the collective tally.


+ If already vegetarian, think about signing up for the challenge of going vegan for a week and get sponsored to do so.


+ If already vegan, or you're short on time, then one of the simplest ways to get involved is to make a donation to support the continued growth of the Meat Free Week movement.
